About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Questions & Answers clarification for Solicitation Number W50S8S26QA013 concerning the B118 Fire Panel project. The RFI addresses contractor responsibilities and scope clarifications for a fire alarm system replacement project.
Key clarifications include: ceiling tile maintenance is required for integrity, but drywall touchup and painting are excluded from contractor scope; contractors must install impairment/out-of-service signs and tags per UFC3-601-02 standards rather than provide continuous fire watch; the new system must be a voice system with capability to communicate to base D21 central station per UFC 4-021-01; monitoring modules for sprinkler system supervision are included in scope, specifically tamper switches, flow switches, and Pressure Independent Valves (PIVs), with potential conductor replacement for PIVs; and all waste disposal, including packaging and approximately 150 fire alarm devices plus the existing FA panel, communicator, and booster panel, must be disposed of off-site by the contractor rather than using facility dumpsters. This RFI serves to clarify ambiguities in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) regarding contractor responsibilities during system demolition and installation phases.
