About this file

This is an RFI Tracker documenting questions and answers for solicitation W50S8A26QA017, a Request for Quote issued by the New Hampshire Army National Guard for Tactical Headsets for Harris Radios. The RFI period ran from July 1-21, 2026, with answers posted on July 17-22, 2026, and the solicitation closing date is July 30, 2026 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time. The requirement consists of two Contract Line Items (CLINs): CLIN 0001 for 39 electronic tactical headsets in Coyote brown color and CLIN 0002 for 39 tactical push-to-talk (PTT) radio adapters. The Government specified the ComTac VIII headset model with active hearing protection, fixed single lead U-174 NATO wired connection, ops-core/FAST/ARC helmet mounts, noise-canceling telescopic boom microphone, MAP 5 ambient hearing presets, NRR of 22dB, waterproof capability, and compatibility with Harris XL-200 radios. The PTT adapter must utilize a standardized Nexus TP-120 connector, maintain a wired connection only (no wireless configurations), not require radio programming, and not disable the emergency button functionality.

Key RFI responses clarified critical technical specifications: all connections must be wired only with no wireless SCU-300 configurations, the headset requires a fixed single lead with U-174 NATO connection paired with a Nexus TP-120 PTT adapter for Harris XL-200 radios, any qualified PTT meeting the listed requirements and compatibility standards is acceptable (no specific manufacturer mandated), and the Government declined in-person product demonstrations at this time. The procurement is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 334310 (Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 750 employees, and awards will be made on a Firm-Fixed Price basis with FOB Destination to Newington, New Hampshire.

CLIN 2 = 39 each1
2Are you specifying the Comtac VI or the Comtac VIII?7/1/267/17/20226Comtac VIII2
3If you want the Comtac VI, what color: Black, OD Green or Coyote?7/2/267/17/20227N/A2
4If you want the Comtac VIII, what color: Charcoal Grey, OD Green or Coyote?7/2/267/17/20228Coyote2
5We are curious if the end user would be open to a hands on / in person demonstration of our offering. We are able to provide this at short notice if interested.7/9/267/17/20229Not Interested at this time2
6I need to confirm one point regarding compatibility between the two line items before submitting our quote. The ComTac VIII platform is offered by the manufacturer in both a wireless configuration (utilizing the SCU-300 System Control Unit) and configurations that terminate in a standard wired NATO U-174 downlead. The original salient characteristics for CLIN 0001 describe a headset with a "fixed single lead for U174 NATO" connection, and CLIN 0002 specifies a separate tactical PTT/radio adapter utilizing a Nexus TP-120 connector for use with Harris XL-200 radios.
Could you please confirm whether the Government's requirement is for the wired ComTac VIII configuration (paired with the CLIN 0002 PTT adapter as originally specified), rather than the wireless SCU-300 system? Confirming this will ensure we quote the correct configuration and avoid any compatibility issues between the two CLINs.7/21/26We do Not want wirless connections all connections all connections must be wired. PTT utilizes the standardized NEXUS TP-120 Connector. We are seeking a fixed single lead connection using a PTT to connect to Harris XL-200 radios that does NOT disable the emergency.3
7The headset requirements mention a U-174 connector, while the PTT requirements mention a Nexus TP-120 connector. Before I request quotes from manufacturers, I want to make sure I'm quoting the correct equipment.
Will the Government accept any PTT that works with the ComTac VIII and Harris XL-200 radio and meets all of the listed requirements, or is there a specific PTT model or manufacturer you would like vendors to quote?7/21/26PTT connection must not require radio programming.
