1Dig Safe Requirements and lead time20-Jun-242-Jul-24The contractor needs to submit an AF103 Work Clearence Request to Civil Engineering through the COR. The NHANG will mark the following utilities: Electric, Communications, Water, Sewer, Drainage. The only utility that the contractor is responsible to contact "Dig Safe" for is the Natural Gas lines. Which are owned by Unitil. The minimum amount of time the NHANG requires for lead time to provide a completed form, which is the contractors authorization to dig, is 2 weeks from sumbittal. The contractor will need to provide the confirmation number from Digsafe/Unitil of the Natural Gas marking. AF103s can encompass more than one site at a time, but it should be noted an AF103 is only valid for 30 days. Planning excavations should take this into account.
