About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) file for the W50S8625QA005 solicitation for MK VI Storage Laydown and Maintenance Support Services at Alpena CRTC, Michigan. The Q&A provides clarifications on several technical aspects of the project, including ship specifications, storage requirements, and contract background. Key details include: the project is a brand-new service for the Michigan National Guard, transferring from an existing Navy Contract (N0018922P0641), and involves storage and maintenance support for three MK VI Patrol Boats. Specific technical requirements discussed include sea strainer handling (to remain closed during storage) and moisture control, with a specification of 5 Damp Rid 47.8oz Unscented Bucket Moisture Absorbers per boat.
The Q&A document addresses five specific vendor questions ranging from lifting equipment (crane "eyes") to desiccant requirements, with most responses directing vendors to review attached specifications. The government's responses indicate that detailed technical information will be provided in supplemental documents, and the project involves transferring and storing naval vessels with specific preservation and maintenance protocols.
