Questions and Answers

Pole Locations

1. Please clarify, SOW and "120AW Sound Map" show 2 Proposed Locations, "New INWS GV Map" shows 3. We are assuming only work to the 2 shown in "120AW Sound Map."

Yes the two locations are correct. Not the three.

2. Please clarify if Lighting Protection will be done under this contract.

The pole is required to be grounded otherwise there is no requirement for Lightning protection. There is a requirement for lighting since it is a tower on an airfield. Generally, it is the standard red flashing strobe that goes on all towers. I'm expecting that the contractor knows or finds out what is required here and supplies it.

3. Please clarify if speaker will be done under this contract. If so, please provide information, design, approved suppliers, etc.

No speaker will not be done under this contract.

4. Please clarify power termination location inside pole. During walkthrough it was thought this may be inside a junction box at the pole.

Power requirement is for 1 120V 30A circuit at each pole (2 total) trenched and placed in conduit. The stub can come up beside the pole and terminate in a disconnect at the pole.

5. If termination on #5 above is in a junction box, is this supplied with the pole or by this contract?

Supplied as part of the contract.

6. What are the power requirements at the pole? Does it need to connect to an emergency (backup) circuit? The existing pole appears to have a battery system with a solar panel.

No, it does not. Yes, there is a backup circuit in the control boxes but that will be taken care of under a separate contract.

7. Please confirm a single conduit will be acceptable from the power connection location to the termination location at the pole.

Yes, one single conduit containing a 30A, hot, neutral and ground.

8. Is there electrical routing designed? Are we to install new metered services at the transformer locations to feed the poles? The existing pole is fed from the adjacent building. The south pole could be done the same way, but the north pole is a considerable distance from any building.

No requirement for metering. Just a step down from the transformer to 120V. Unless 120V service already exists at the transformer.

9. Please provide additional support documentation referenced on the solicitation page 15 of 67 "Attachments."

Foundation designs are attached. Poles are already constructed and partially paid for through a separate contract. So, the remainder of the poles will need to be purchased under this contract. Sabre Industries as listed in SAM.gov has the poles.

10. Please provide a physical address of the pole location and any coordination efforts required (time restrictions, equipment requirements, etc.)

Poles will be installed at 2800 Airport Ave B. Work hours should be addressed under the solicitation. No coordination inside of duty hours.

11. Escorts are shown on page 15 of 67; however, during the site visit no areas were within the hangers. Will this be a requirement? Will the escorts be required during the MSA installation?

Escort will be required while in the munitions area. EAL should suffice for the area near transient parking as long as the GC has a CAC or temp pass.
