Text version
1. How many of those cable boxes do you have? There is one box per channel on the Channel Line Up, so 59 boxes
2. Who is the current cable provider? The current Provider is Sparklight, but the Contractor we have is DIGITAL SYSTEMS (DISYS)
3. What was the previous contract value? $43,320.00
4. Name and model of current cable boxes? Motorola model: DCX700/A080/*13
5. How many Tvs is on the service? The vendor provides 1 signal to the CRTC
Communications shop, who then distributes the signal over our base owned equipment to 550 TV’s.
1. What is preferred, a bid that subsidizes the equipment and initial installation with a monthly per-room rate that is loaded with all, or a separate charge for equipment and installation and separate per-room charge for service?
a. We need a bid with a per month service charge. Please follow the requested RFQ sheet that was attached to the solicitation when submitting bids. The contractor is responsible for providing all the equipment that is needed to fulfill the requirement. We currently own the Blonder Tongue modulators that are working just fine with the current provider, and have worked with Direct TV in the past.
2. Would it be possible to enter into a 3 or 5-year agreement? That would allow us to amortize the equipment, unless the preferred is for you to own the equipment?
a. If you read the solicitation, this contract will be a base year, with 3 12 month option years thereafter.
3. We can provide a 96-channel line-up (more economical than picking each channel individually), though there are 12 channels requested that are only available in the top tier packages which is cost prohibitive. We can work with you for the replacements.
a. The channels in the channel listed must be provided for. Any additional channels
4. Who is the incumbent, and what is the per-room charge?
a. The incumbents are a few office spaces, and dormitory rooms used by military members visiting the base for training. There is no “per-room” charge. The vendor will bill the government on a monthly basis through WAWF.
5. Is there an opportunity to also provide voice and data services to the entity?
a. Data and voice services are already provided to these areas through government maintained equipment and service contracts.
