Questions and Answers
Number Question
1 Is a phase indicator to be installed?
Answer Yes. Please see updated SOW.
2 Is the large disconnect to be moved, a secondary to be installed, or the equipment’s internal disconnect to be utilized?
Answer Large disconnect needs to be replaced with a 300A disconnect, then run service to test stand from disconnect. Please see updated SOW.
3 What is the pipe size of the chilled water lines?
Answer 3 inch diameter water line
4 What is the material of the chilled water lines?
Answer copper
5 If the secondary “free-floating” emergency stop button is to be installed, where is this to be positioned?
Answer Please see updated SOW and attachment 3.
6 Are hydraulic schematics available and can they be provided?
Answer There is no need for the hydraulic schematics as they are outside the scope of this project, only thing be provided for is the 300 amp electrical service and the chilled water supply.
Controls for water-- Is this aspect still to be a contract requirement as the equipment/test stand appears to have internal controls capable of satisfying the SOW’s intent regarding this factor?
Answer Please see updated SOW.
8 Hydraulic schematics-- Does the chilling system within HPU have a mixing valve for chilling?
Answer According to the TO, only chilled water meeting the specification as described in the SOW is needed. No additonal controls for the chilled water supply are called for. The Government believes it would be prudent to install an expansion tank. Please see updated SOW.
9 Hydraulic schematics-- What is the fitting size/type for chiller connection?
Answer 1-1/4 npt male for the inlet and outlet of the water connection (ports on machine are female), per page 5 and 8 section 0400, also need ball valve shutoffs for both to facilitate service. Only other item of note is install an expansion tank in the circuit if needed, but no controls are needed.
10 Does the contract require piping for air and/or nitrogen as the equipment has inlets?
Answer No, the user will connect their air lines and nitrogen tank.
11 What is the FLA of all the other items in the main electrical panel?
Answer See attached pictures, "RFI_panels and data plate info." Each breaker went to a subpanel. Request additional information as needed.
