1. Is there any specifications regarding the ¾” Dia. steel cable?
This is simply non-coated steel cable which needs to be connected to the six (6) government owned jersey barriers on-site. Contractor is to place/install accordingly.
2. What is the impact rating required to be met?
The 165th Civil Engineer Squadron initially reached out to the 165th Security Forces Squadron during design and there is no impact rating for the fence so long as the jersey barriers are installed to include the ¾ inch diameter steel cable.
3. What is the height of the fence, bottom to top of fabric, then to top of BW?
The height of the fence is 8 feet plus approximately 1 foot for the barbed wire section. See drawing details for further specifications.
4. Does the property line ‘jog/offset’ by 12” from the 9.2 to 10.2 location require special inline concrete tie downs for the ¾” cable?
I’m not quite certain in regards to the question about the property line “jog/offset.” The property line doesn’t weave. The gates to angle at about a 45 degree angle and then it’s a straight shot down to tie-in to the existing fence perimeter as indicated on drawing specifications. The contractor will need to place the six (6) jersey barriers and connect the ¾” steel cable. See drawings.
5. Can you find out the rating they are looking for on the Crash rated chain link gates? Nothing on the plans states a rating.
See answer for question #2.
6. Can you verify what you are calling your crash rating – M30/P1 or P3 M40/P1 or P3 M50/P2 or
P3 – these are the typical crash ratings?
See answer for question #2.
7. I want to double check the height of the fence. Is it 7 or 8 feet tall?
Fence is 8 feet tall plus the 45 degree angled barbed wire at the top. Please see drawing details.
8. Is a Bid, Payment, and Performance bond required?
In accordance with FAR 28.101-1(a) and FAR 28.102-1(b), a bid and payment bonds are required.
9. Is it Heavy Mill coating (9 gauge core 6 gauge) finish?
Correct.
10. Is it 3 strand or 6 strand barbed wire?
3 stranded wire at top.
11. Is it powder coated or painting of ¾ inch wire with Jersey barrier?
No coating required for the ¾ inch cable.
