RESPONSES TO INQUIRIES
1) During the site visit it was indicated that Panel “RJ” was required to be connected to the generator in lieu of panel “MJ” as stated in the RFP. Please confirm which panel is required to be connected to the generator.
Ans: Panel RJ was confirmed to be the panel that needs to be on the back-up generator. It was also confirmed that panel MJ is already hooked-up to back-up power. All references to MJ in the RFP should actually read “RJ”. The updated SOW is attached.
2) At the site visit it was indicated that working in and turning power off to the Operations Vault can only occur after normal business hours. Please confirm that any work requiring an outage or working in the Operations Vault is to be performed outside normal business hours.
Ans: Confirmed. The vault area needs to remain operational during critical times. Once the contract is awarded then the contractor will work very closely with the Civil Engineer Squadron and the stake holder to produce an appropriate construction schedule. Because of the fluidity of a flying mission, some outages may be needed during off work hours or on weekends.
3) Will the contractor be required to provide temporary power during any required power outages?
Ans: No, the construction schedule will be drafted to the best ability to not interfere with the occupants. The Government shall provide any alternative means for power if required.
4) At the site visit the Government shared information from an as-built drawing (sheet E- 133). Please provide.
Ans: Requested drawing attached.
5) Will the new conduits and fittings need to be painted?
Ans: Yes, paint to match existing.
6) Are as-built drawings required? If so, will standard red-lines be acceptable? Or, will the as-builts need to be in auto-cad?
Ans: Yes, red-lines can be directly done in the master drawing file. As-builts are not wanted. Government can provide assistance from the full-time Government drafter to assist if needed.
7) Reference Statement of Work, paragraph 3.2.2 and 3.2.4. Both paragraphs state, “Install 2- 1.25” conduits from large existing J-Box above Panel (S) to new ceiling mounted J-
Box above Main Distribution Board”. Is this a typo and redundant information? Please clarify.
Ans: Please disregard paragraph 3.2.4; it is a redundant typo and will be removed from the
SOW.
