QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
SOLICITATION W50S6N22B0003 – Abston Gate Install
1. Is it a requirement that the gate's power be supplied from the "emergency" electrical panel, or can it be fed from the standard panels?
No, standard panels are fine.
2. Is there any requirement for any security piping and/or wiring to the gates?
No additional wiring required other than electrical.
3. Is there a requirement for a fused disconnect for the power at the gate control? It does not mention it in the SOW but was discussed as being needed at the site visit.
Project requires a disconnect that meets local codes and provides a means for work to be performed on the gate operator.
4. Is there a requirement for a key switch that could hold the gate open manually for longer periods of time? It was discussed at the site visit that this would be helpful on drill weekends when traffic through the gates is heaviest.
No, longer open periods will be accomplished by turning off the gate operator.
5. It was noted that the 232nd gate would require a sensor on the opposite side of the road from the control. This will require a pipe be bored under the roadway. Is this to be included as a requirement under this bid?
The project requires the minimum amount of sensors needed to safely operator the gate. Saw cutting asphalt and cold patching is acceptable as required.
