THREAT PROTECTION & VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT

Overview

The ARM1000 has two INPUT stacks, one for empty DT 236A watch dosimeters (no slide) and one for the OSL slides in cassettes. If some housekeeping rules are observed, the machine will insert the slides back to the very watches that they came from.

When a reassembly function is initiated the ARM1000 will advance the first slide from the slide INPUT stack into position. The machine will then take an empty watch from the watch shell INPUT stack, open it, slide from the slide INPUT stack back into a proper position in the open watch shell, close the watch, and then eject it to an OUTPUT tray or stack. The operation continues until the INPUT stacks are empty. The INPUT stack with the cassettes may have up to 8 cassettes (a total of 200 slides). Once the machine has processed the first cassette, it will automatically eject the empty cassette and start processing the next cassette. The machine will stop automatically, if it encounters an empty slot in a cassette or encounters no more cassettes. The OUTPUT stack is identical to the 200 watch stack or tray of the automatic disassembly machine ADM1000.

As a purely mechanical device the ADM 1000 will not read the FNTD or DT 236A serial numbers, and not separate the FNTDs from the slide.

Benefits

Customers can reduce the manual labor to reassemble DT 236As before sending them back to the field.

Presently, when a customer receives a DT 236A from the field, personnel manually separates each slide from each watch at a “Receiving Station”. The slides are then manually loaded into a cassette that the Automatic High Capacity OSL Readers use as input.

See Figure 1.

Presently, the slides are inserted back into the empty dosimeter shells manually after the dose from them has been read. The ARM1000 inserts the slides back into the watch shells automatically.
