The purpose of P0003 is to answer the following questions. Please note the closing date remains to be Tuesday, 11 June 2019 at 11am.
Buildings 642A, 656, 657 Question and Answers
Question: Are the doors are painted will they be 1 solid color or 2?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: All doors are to be painted one color
Question: Are the doors only being replaced or are both the doors and frames being replaced?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: See Specifications
Question: Do all doors have internal rods?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: See Specifications
Question: Will the Government allow the CTR to punch final communications/electrical connection? Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: Final electrical connection is to be made by the CTR, communications connections will be made by the Government
Buildings 603, 617, 3413, 4233 Overhead Doors Question and Answers
Question: What are the wind loading requirements?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: See Specifications
Question: Is there a lead paint report available?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: A comprehensive lead-based paint survey has not been conducted.
Question: In cases where unpowered doors are being replaced with powered doors is the Contractor responsible for bringing over power?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: Yes the Contractor responsible for bringing over power.
Question: There are discrepancies between door dimensions in the SOW and dimensions measured in the field?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: Measurements in the SOW were taken from drawings and may differ from what is actually present, the Contractor is responsible for the field verification of each door opening prior to ordering.
Question: What are the hours of operation?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: See Specifications
Question: Who is responsible for obtaining any hot work permits?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: The contractor is responsible for obtaining hot work permits from the Devens Fire Department
Question: Accident Prevention Plan?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: The Contractor shall provide a comprehensive APP and Risk Assessment Form in accordance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1
Question: Are the doors to be blast proof? Fire proof?
Answer: DRFTA DPW Response: There is no requirement for blast proof doors, however the motor operators must be explosion proof as per UL 674. There is a requirement that the doors be fire rated in accordance with NFPA 80.
