Text version

We plan to provide the Specter® DR1-4x combination scope as our offering for the MMO program. This scope provides reddot reflex like behavior at 1x magnification and 4x capability, with a ballistic reticle. Could you confirm, that in principle, such a device could be acceptable for the MMO program?

In principle yes. If this design is submitted it would be considered for evaluation per the solicitation and not rejected based solely on the 1-4x design.

In regards to the carrying strap mentioned in AR-PD-191, 1.2 item e & W15QKN-18-R-0065 C.1.3.2 item e, is this for the sight itself or the carrying case mentioned in AR-PD-191 item 3.8.3?

This is not in reference to a specific requirement but any straps that may be included in your design.

In regards to the LFU (AR-PD-191 item 3.6.10), we have experience on placing the laser filter within the rifle scope, preventing scratches, loss of the filter, and potential fogging issues due the removable nature of the requested LFU. Would an internal LFU (not removable) be acceptable?

This would not be rejected based solely on the design and would be considered for evaluation, however it may affect user acceptance based on the non-removable aspect of the lowering of transmission/potential color distortion.

The reticle construction (AR-PD-191 item 3.6.17) references a ballistic reticle for standard service ammunition. We are assuming the different platforms would have different reticles, i.e. the MMO would have a different part number variants for the different platforms. Is this the expectation?

Yes, the different platforms will have different variants.

Regarding Mk19 pyroshock, the 800 to 900 g, 19 milllisecond duration is extremely severe if this assumed to be a half sine wave shock profile (about 15x more energy than the SCAR-H shock). Could the profile be provided?

Yes – will be sent under a different cover

Could the details of the iron sights be provide to ensure the MMO sight does not interfere? (AR-PD-191 3.6.7.2)

Yes - Will be addressed under a different cover

Regarding AR-PD-191, item 3.5.3.5 we have a technical implementation for a low battery indicator that provides warning a few hours in advance of battery exhaustion. A more accurate implementation would consume more power than the MMO sight uses currently. Would our existing, more conservative, solution be acceptable?

If submitted this would be considered for evaluation.
