About this file

This document is a Sole Source Letter from Evoqua Water Technologies LLC dated February 1, 2024, addressed to Collier County, Florida, specifically for the VX 456® mixed oxidant product. The letter establishes Evoqua Water Technologies as the exclusive provider of VX 456® for wastewater odor control applications, with a proprietary technology covered under U.S. Patent 5,984,993. The product is designed to remove and control malodors in waste streams, reacting rapidly with sulfides and odor-causing compounds, and providing odor control for up to 72 hours without contributing to solids formation or interfering with waste processing.

The sole source letter indicates that a license to use the VX 456® solution is included with product sale, and the product is a trademark of OxyChem. The technical specifications highlight that VX 456® contains selective oxidants specific to sulfides and related organic odor-causing compounds, does not form chlorinated organics, and offers fast-reacting, long-duration odor control. The document is part of a broader intent by Collier County to designate Evoqua Water Technologies as a single-source provider for various water treatment chemicals, components, and services across multiple technological systems and solutions.
