About this file

This document is a Statement of Requirements for the Unit Training and Equipment Site (UTES) specifying procurement of a portable diesel-fired heater system for engine warming during cold winter months.

The heater must deliver a minimum of 400,000 BTU per hour with standard operating airflow of at least 1,500 CFM to enable rapid heating of large spaces. The unit requires a weather-resistant, heavy-duty enclosure with an integrated fuel tank of minimum 35 gallons for extended operations and large pneumatic tires with a tow bar or handle for portability. Essential safety features include electronic ignition, automatic flame-out protection, and overheat shut-off capability. The heater must incorporate a user-friendly control panel with adjustable thermostat and temperature display, support multiple air discharge ports compatible with flexible ducting, and be designed for rapid setup and breakdown. The equipment is intended for temporary or supplemental heating applications in aviation, construction, industrial, or emergency response environments. The procurement package includes approximately two 12-inch by 15-foot canvas hoses, three 6-inch by 15-foot canvas hoses, and a flat-bed trailer for transport and operation of the heater system.
