About this file
This document is a criminal background check policy issued by the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Procurement Services, outlining requirements for contractors performing services on campus. The policy mandates that contractors conduct criminal background screenings on all individuals who may be assigned to work at the university, with specific disqualifying criminal offenses including drug distribution, sexual offenses, violent crimes, child endangerment, murder, kidnapping, theft, and crimes involving moral turpitude.
Contractors must provide UTA with an initial list of all potential workers and update this list whenever personnel changes occur. Prior to beginning work, contractors must submit a signed certification letter confirming compliance with the background check requirements. The university's Office of Human Resources reserves the right to review and potentially grant exceptions to these guidelines on a case-by-case basis, considering the nature and severity of any criminal history. This policy applies to all contractor and subcontractor personnel who will be performing work on the University of Texas at Arlington campus.
