About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Living Barge O-Level Maintenance Contract. The RFI addresses two key questions: first, whether a Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA) or Agreement for Boat Repair (ABR) is required (response: no), and second, regarding dry dock and work location requirements. The work will be performed at either the government site or the prime contractor's site where the corresponding ship maintenance availability is taking place, with living barges accompanying the ships undergoing maintenance.

The related federal contract opportunity, issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command, seeks industry input for Operational Level (O-Level) maintenance and support services for Duty Crew Berthing Barges. The program maintains barges that provide essential berthing and messing facilities for ships during CNO scheduled overhauls, with barges located in Kittery, ME; Groton, CT; and Hampton Roads, VA. The government is gathering information to assess industry capability to meet requirements for maintenance, service call work, system/equipment familiarization, and port husbandry services for barges that are over 40 years old.
