The contractor shall report the information via the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://beta.sam.gov. The information is collected through SAM and included in the agency service contract inventory.

Contractors shall log in annually to their SAM profile to complete the service contract inventory reporting requirements. Contractors performing on covered contracts must report their information between October 1 and October 31 each year. Agencies are required to review contractor input and work with them to make revisions, if and as necessary, by November 30 each year.

Further guidance can be provided by Contracting Officer upon Contractor request.

XVII.Post-Award Conference: Upon award of contract, Contractor shall attend a post-award conference via conference call with the Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), and COR designated representatives from VA facility.

XVIII.Steam Trap Types:

Thermodynamic (Disc):

Thermodynamic traps work on the difference in dynamic response to velocity change in the flow of compressible and incompressible fluids. As steam enters, static pressure above the disk forces the disk against the valve seat. The static pressure over a large area overcomes the high inlet pressure of the steam. As the steam starts to condense, the pressure against the disk lessens and the trap cycles. This essentially makes a TD trap a "time cycle" device: it will open even if there is only steam present, this can cause premature wear. If non-condensable gas is trapped on top of the disc, it can cause the trap to be locked shut

Testing Method: Mircosonic Stethoscope (Listening Device)

Mechanical Trap (Inverted Bucket):

https://beta/

Mechanical traps have a float that rises and falls in relation to condensate level, and this usually has a mechanical linkage attached that opens and closes the valve. Mechanical traps operate in direct relationship to condensate levels present in the body of the steam trap. Mechanical steam traps have a typical service of life of 3-4 years. Inverted bucket and float traps are examples of mechanical traps.

Testing Method: Microsonic Stethoscope (Listening Device)

Float and Thermostatic:

Float and thermostatic traps are mechanical units that operate on both density and temperature principles. The float valve operates on the density principle. A level connects the ball float to the valve and seat. Once condensate reaches a certain level in the trap, the float rises, opening the orifice and draining condensate. A water seal formed by the condensate prevents live steam loss

Since the discharge valve is under water, it is not capable of venting air and non-condensables. When the accumulation of air and con-condensable gases causes a significant temperature drop, a thermostatic air vent in the top of the trap discharges them. The thermostatic vent opens at a temperature a few degrees below saturation, so it's able to handle a large volume of air-through an entirely separate orifice-but at a slightly reduced temperature.

Testing Method: Microsonic Stethoscope (Listening Device) & Infrared Thermometer

Thermostatic Trap

Temperature traps have a valve that is driven on/off the seat by either expansion or contraction caused by temperature. They differ from mechanical traps in that their design requires them to hold back some condensate waiting for it to cool sufficiently to allow the valve to open. In some exceptional circumstances this is not desirable if condensate needs to be removed as soon as it is formed. According to best practices to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions, in most of applications (like tracing lines) it is universally accepted that condensate must be removed 40 °C (104 °F) below saturation temperature. This best practice is only possible by using temperature operated traps. Temperature Control (TB) traps, Thermostatic traps, Bi- Thermostatic traps, and bimetallic traps are examples of temperature operated traps.

Testing Method: Microsonic Stethoscope (Listening Device) & Infrared Thermometer

Pumping Trap:

Pumping traps are designed to remove condensate from modulating steam trap applications where motive pressure for lift may not be available. An external motive force source of either steam or compresses air is needed to remove condensate from the trap. This trap is a mechanical trap with a float the controls a vent and motive pressure valve. When the trap is filling the motive pressure valve is closed and the vent valve is open, allowing the trap to relieve itself of unwanted flash steam pressure and non-condensables. Once the liquid level is satisfied within the trap, the float closes the vent valve and opens the motive pressure valve. The motive pressure forces the condensate out of the trap, when the liquid level lowers the float then closes the motive pressure valve and opens the vent starting the process over.

Testing Method: Stethoscope (Listening Device)

B.2 PRICE/COST SCHEDULE

The indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract guaranteed minimum amount is $10,000.00 for the lifetime of the contract. The minimum guaranteed amount will be awarded at the time of the contract award via the initial task order for services.

The IDIQ contract maximum ceiling is $1,500,000.00 for the lifetime of the contract.

Quantities listed in the Price/Cost Schedule are estimates only and are not guaranteed to be ordered. Actual quantities on the task order(s) can be less than or greater than the estimated quantities listed based on the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System’s requirements and needs.

Only warranted Contracting Officers from the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 23 may issue task order(s) against the IDIQ contract.
