About this file
This document is an agricultural land lease from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for farming services on the Union County State Fish and Wildlife Area. The lease outlines a 4-year cropping plan from 2024-2027, specifying that fields must be planted to corn and soybeans with cover crops. The lessee is required to leave standing unharvested corn in certain fields for wildlife and must follow requirements for crop rotation, seed treatments, and herbicide use. The total leased acreage is 1,145.20 acres. The lease term is from 2024-2027 with no renewal option stated.
The lease sets per-acre rental rates and prohibits the lessee from harvesting all planted crops, requiring them to leave a portion standing for wildlife habitat. The lessee must obtain written approval from the IDNR for any deviations from the specified cropping plan. Failure to comply with the lease terms may result in termination. No information is provided about set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or other salient financial details.
