About this file

This document is an Agricultural/Wildlife & Habitat Land Lease for Horseshoe Lake State Park in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids for agricultural farming services on state-owned property located within Horseshoe Lake State Park in Madison County. The lease requirements include planting specific crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and cover crops on designated fields according to a detailed cropping plan for the years 2024 through 2028. The tenant must adhere to various agricultural practices, such as not using neonicotinoid-treated soybean seed or dicamba, and leaving a percentage of corn fields unharvested annually.

The lease payments and pricing terms are not specified in this document. The tenant must pay the agreed-upon per acre lease amount if a field is left idle due to weather conditions. Non-adherence to the cropping plan instructions may result in termination of the farm lease. The document provides additional details on the required actions, acreage, and materials to be provided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
