Digital Transformation

The Army Modernization Strategy identifies digital transformation as essential to modernize the Army.

The DoD Software Modernization Strategy and Implementation Plan, calls for delivering resilient software capabilities at the speed of relevance and targets the following outcomes – (1) Shift of secure software delivery left through modern infrastructure and platforms and (2) enablement of this shift through true process transformation and people development

Digital transformation represents a shift in operations and culture that fundamentally changes how the Army delivers value through investments in transformative digital technologies and builds the workforce into one with the training and experience needed to execute the full range of Army missions.

Policy and guidance continues to become more targeted and specific for how organizations are expected to operate their Digital Environments

The PEO STRI Digital Transformation Journey

Current Challenges Path Forward

Inefficient means of sharing and utilization of data resulting in suboptimal decision-making increasing the time to deliver and risk to successful program performance

Disparate and siloed data

Non-standard siloed business environments

Non-digital artifacts with manual processes

Lack of digital transformation awareness

Ability to rapidly share, analyze, and make enterprise decisions by linking environments, communities, and data resulting in informed, rapid and confident decisions reducing time to delivering and risk to program success

Ability to follow workflow from operational capability, to requirements, acquisition programs and test, while staying integrated across the entire lifecycle.

Integrating, not synchronizing (with paper, meetings or email), what we do today in separate communities through digital threads.
