About this file
This document is a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY2025 Weather Program Office (WPO) Research Program Announcement - Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBES) grant competition.
The NOFO states that NOAA's WPO is soliciting proposals for SBES research to understand the intersection of human behavior and meteorology, with the goal of improving weather forecast information and communication to the public. The approximate total award funding per year is $1,500,000. Projects should range from Readiness Level 2 to 8 and have potential to transition to operations at NOAA or the weather enterprise within 3-7 years. The NOFO is issued under the NOAA Weather and Air Quality Research grant program (CFDA 11.459). Applicants must complete a form identifying if any named investigators on the proposal identify with underserved groups as defined in Executive Order 13985. This information will not be provided to reviewers or used in the evaluation.
