About this file
This document is a Request for Federal Support related to a federal grant opportunity from NOAA's Weather Program Office (WPO). The WPO is soliciting proposals for the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBES) grant competition, with an approximate total award funding of $1,500,000 per year. The program aims to understand the intersection of human behavior and meteorology, and support projects ranging from Readiness Level 2 to 8, with the potential to transition to operations within 3-7 years. The NOAA federal collaborator must provide pre-approval and have their costs included in the lead PI's budget. The related federal grant opportunity is the FY2025 Weather Program Office Research Program Announcement - Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBES), with a solicitation number of NOAA-OAR-WPO-2025-28598. The funding opportunity is administered by the Department of Commerce.
