About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 Notice to Bidders issued by Long Beach Utilities on July 16, 2026, for Invitation to Bid (ITB) UD-26-342 regarding Fire Hydrants and Fire Hydrant Parts. The addendum provides clarifications to the original ITB specifications through a Question and Answer format. Key technical clarifications include confirmation that materials may be either domestic or import; fire hydrant flanges must comply with AWWA C110 (ANSI 125-pound flanges) with six equally spaced 3/4-inch holes on a 9-3/8-inch bolt circle; break-off hydrant risers are required; plastic caps are preferred but ductile caps will not be rejected; and bronze (brass) bushings must feature female national standard hydrant thread by female iron pipe thread connections. The document also distinguishes between two line items: Line 29 specifies the 1-1/8" operating nut, while Line 30 specifies the machine nut used to retain the operating nut to the stem.

Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and submitting it with their bid submission. Failure to submit the signed addendum may result in bidder disqualification. The addendum was prepared by Esme Houtepen, Utilities Procurement Representative, and requires acknowledgment from the bidding company with signature, company name, printed name, title, and date on the form provided.
