About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health) for Dental Prosthetic Laboratory services to support the institution's dental clinics in Farmington, Connecticut for patient care and educational purposes. The solicitation seeks qualified organizations to provide comprehensive laboratory services including fixed prosthodontics (crowns and bridges), implant prosthodontics, and removable prosthodontics using both analog and digital fabrication methods. UConn Health expects to make a single award to one supplier based on the Selection Committee's evaluation of proposals received. The RFP opened on May 11, 2026 at 4:30 PM EDT with a deadline for proposal submission on June 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM EDT. A vendor question and answer period is available from May 13, 2026 through May 19, 2026, both at 2:00 PM EDT. The resulting contract will be awarded for an initial three-year term (approximately January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2030) with UConn Health holding the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. Interested vendors should contact Lynn Brown at UConn Health Center, 16 Munson Road, Farmington, CT 06030, by telephone at 860-679-1775 or email at lybrown@uchc.edu.
Pricing shall remain fixed throughout the initial three-year term of award, with payment terms specified as net 45 days and proposals to be submitted electronically via email to the identified Buyer. All implant parts will be provided by UConn Health, and subcontracting and offshoring are prohibited. Qualified proposers must be USA-based firms with documented ability to perform services in the United States only, possess technical training and education in dental laboratory services, maintain current personnel, equipment and facilities, demonstrate past performance on similar work, and meet all ADA requirements and regulations. The RFP does not specify an estimated award value or budget range. Proposals must include completed bid specification sheets, pricing worksheets, three current professional references (not including UConn Health), one previous client reference, acceptance of UConn Health's standard contract terms, and certificates of insurance naming UConn Health as an additional insured. The specification spreadsheet includes detailed requirements for materials quality control, turnaround times for various case types (ranging from 2 to 12 working days), remake policies, and specific alloy and porcelain specifications including Jensen Superior Plus for porcelain fused to metal restorations and Jensen J-3 for cast metal restorations. All acrylic must be processed using Lucitone 199, and all cases must be returned disinfected.
