PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

Base Tree Removal and Trimming

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, supervision, and equipment to remove trees at the locations indicated below. All work shall conform to specifications outlined in this Statement of Work (SOW). All tree and shrub removal will include, stump grinding to 8 inches below surface, as well as removal, chipping and hauling of all wood, debris, and brush.

The Contractor shall remove all shrubs located in front of BLDG 803. They are located next to the front entrance of the building, by the reserved parking spots.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. All work shall be performed during the hours of operation from 0800-1600 Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays. All debris shall be removed by the contractor and grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and streets will be kept in a neat/orderly condition.

2. Prior to tree removal, the Contractor will receive an Environmental Safety brief from the Environmental Protection Specialist (CEIE) and any issue that may arise from the instruction of the brief shall be reported immediately to the project POC.

3. The Contractor is responsible for any damage done to the grounds, such as ruts in grass or damage to structures. Damages shall be repaired before completion of work.

4. It is the contractor’s responsibility to comply with the local laws, codes, and regulations in the performance of the requirements of the SOW.

5. The Contractor shall field verify all trees measurement and any other requirements before the start of work.

6. All trees identified as removal shall be stump grinded.

7. Trees identified as removal (stump grind) within a non-irrigated lawn shall be grinded down 8 inches below the grounds surface and back filled with dirt and compacted to match existing ground grade. Trees identified for stump grind within an irrigated lawn must be grinded down 8 inches below the grounds surface and back filled with dirt and lay sod to match existing ground grade.

8. Trees identified as trim must be trimmed 8 feet up and around from the ground and 14 feet from any road. Trees that touch a building must be trimmed 3 feet clearance from the building. Palm trees are to be trimmed up to the first 90-degree limb, leaving no drooping limbs.

9. All stumps shall be grinded down 8 inches below the surface of the ground.

10. Wood chips shall be hauled off site that are in the interior of the base. Wood chips at the Union Creek location will be spread out, not leaving mounds of wood chips.

11. Materials storage and clean up. Clean up and removal of all debris must be accomplished at the end of each day’s work.
