About this file
The document is a Determination of Interest (DOI) 23-002 issued by the Sacramento County Probation Department seeking information from eligible community-based organizations to provide trauma-informed programming and treatment services for juvenile justice-involved youth ages 12-25 at the Youth Detention Facility (YDF). The DOI, released on December 19, 2023, requires interested nonprofit organizations to submit responses electronically by January 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm. Eligible service providers must be experienced in trauma-informed programming, able to serve up to 50 youth simultaneously, provide services Monday through Sunday between 8 am and 8 pm, and be located in the Greater Sacramento area.
The Probation Department is specifically looking for IRS-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations capable of delivering services such as mental health assessments, trauma-responsive therapeutic services, trauma-focused skills building, case management, and community service linkage. This is an information-gathering effort, not a formal contract solicitation, with the potential for a future Request for Proposal (RFP). Providers must demonstrate licensing and certification of treatment service personnel and express interest in pursuing a future contract opportunity consistent with their organizational mission. The initiative stems from California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) Title 15 regulations requiring trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions designed to reduce recidivism among youth.
