About this file

This document is a detailed specification for Traffic Signal Cabinets issued by the Montana Department of Transportation for procurement of two TS1 and thirteen TS2 traffic signal control cabinets. The initial order consists of 15 total cabinets to be delivered within 120 calendar days after prototype cabinet approval, with future orders to be placed on an "as-needed" basis. Delivery timeframes range from 75 to 120 calendar days depending on the quantity of cabinets ordered, with all cabinets to be shipped to the Montana Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Section in Helena. The specification provides comprehensive technical requirements for traffic signal cabinet configurations, including detailed design specifications for both TS1 and TS2 cabinet types, with specific emphasis on compatibility with Siemens M50/M60 signal controllers.

The procurement includes extensive technical requirements covering cabinet construction, electrical specifications, wiring standards, hardware components, and operational characteristics. Cabinets must be 100% manufactured in the United States, fabricated from specific aluminum grades, and meet NEMA standards. The specification requires comprehensive warranties, including a minimum one-year warranty on workmanship and materials, and mandates that all equipment be new and of current production. Vendor responsibilities include providing prototype cabinets for review, submitting detailed cabinet prints within seven days of bid opening, and offering onsite technical assistance for the first five signal cabinet installations. Late delivery penalties are outlined, with daily charges assessed based on the contract's original amount, ranging from $1,116 to $3,850 per calendar day of delay.
