Town_of_Manchester_2023_Holiday_Calendar.pdf

The document is a 2023 Holiday Calendar for the Town of Manchester, Connecticut's Human Resources Department, detailing the official municipal holiday schedule for the calendar year. The town offices will be closed on 14 designated holidays, including standard federal and state observances such as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, and Christmas. Some notable features include the observance of Juneteenth for the first time in 2023, and a unique provision for a floating holiday in lieu of Lincoln's Birthday, which the town can substitute at its discretion with notification provided by December 31st of the preceding year.

The holiday calendar provides specific dates for each holiday, with most falling on traditional calendar dates. Some holidays are observed on dates slightly different from their actual calendar date, such as New Year's Day being observed on Monday, January 2, 2023. The document also indicates that while the town observes these holidays, the specific floating holiday (on December 26, 2023) gives the municipal administration flexibility in scheduling. This calendar serves as an official guide for town employees and potentially for scheduling municipal services and operations throughout the 2023 calendar year.
