About this file
This is a bid form from the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida, for Theatrical Stage Rigging, Lighting & Sound Systems - Installation, Maintenance, & Repair Services (Bid #27-0287). The project encompasses installation, maintenance, supply, and repair services for stage equipment and curtains, rigging equipment, smoke hatch, lighting and sound systems, and related stage electrical equipment across the District's auditoriums, cafetoriums, and stadiums. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, vehicles, travel, and fuel necessary to perform the work in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. The bid form establishes a term contract with firm pricing and percentage discounts off manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) and/or vendor catalogs. A conflict of interest provision stipulates that the contractor awarded the inspection services under Bid #26-0288 will not be eligible for selection as the contractor for this maintenance and repair work.
Pricing is structured as hourly labor rates for standard working hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) and non-standard working hours (Monday through Friday before 7:00 A.M. and after 5:00 P.M., and all day Saturday and Sunday) across four service categories: Stage Curtain and Rigging Maintenance; Professional Audio Systems; Visual Systems; and Customized Lighting and Effects, plus a category for other labor hours and stage-related electrical work. Bidders must provide percentage discounts off MSRP for audio systems, visual systems, and lighting systems. Materials, rental equipment, and subcontracted services are to be billed at net cost with a maximum 15 percent markup allowed for overhead and profit. Travel compensation is limited to a maximum of one and one-half hours of labor rate from the contractor's or subcontractor's shop to a School Board project site, with no payment for return travel. Itemized invoices from suppliers must accompany all material, rental equipment, and subcontracted services billings.
