About this file

The document is a Technical Specifications and Requirements file for a Chemical Fire Suppression Systems Maintenance and Repair Services contract for Pinellas County Schools in Florida. The contract seeks a certified licensed contractor to provide corrective and preventative maintenance for pre-engineered fire suppression systems across county school facilities. The scope of work includes comprehensive maintenance services adhering to NFPA standards (specifically NFPA 17, 17A, and 96), with requirements for coordinating repairs with facility personnel including the Head Plant Operator, Fire Marshal, Project Coordinator, and Police Dispatch.

Contractors must follow specific procedures for system impairments, tagging, and reporting deficiencies, with immediate contact protocols for different types of suppression systems (wet chemical in cafeterias and culinary areas, dry chemical systems). The solicitation explicitly notes that the vendor awarded this maintenance contract cannot be the same vendor awarded the separate Inspection, Testing and Certification Services contract, ensuring competitive bidding and preventing potential conflicts of interest.
