About this file

These technical specifications were prepared by C. Alan Anderson Architect, P.A. for the Sarasota County Judicial Center Re-Roofing project located at 2002 Ringling Boulevard in Sarasota, Florida. The project involves the complete removal of the existing clay tile roof and replacement with a new aggregate-coated metal roofing system (DECRA "Villa Tile") with a comprehensive scope of work including selective demolition, review and potential repair of existing decking, installation of new exterior gypsum sheathing, two layers of underlayment, and metal roofing panels. The project is scheduled for construction in 2024, with a contract duration of 180 days from the Notice to Proceed, and includes provisions for a 5, 10, 15, or 20-year No Dollar Limit (NDL) watertight system warranty.

The technical specifications detail comprehensive requirements for materials, installation, and performance, with specific emphasis on meeting Florida Building Code 2023 standards. The roofing system will utilize DECRA "Villa Tile" interlocking panels made of pre-corrugated, roll-formed aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel with a ceramic-coated, colored-stone chip finish. The manufacturer will provide a 50-year fully transferable limited warranty covering wind, hail impact, and fire resistance. The project includes specific engineering requirements for buildings over 60 feet tall, mandating a Florida-licensed engineer's analysis to verify compliance with project-specific conditions, fastener requirements, and installation parameters.
