About this file

This document contains two technical specifications issued by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) for the bulk delivery of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and heavy and light duty coolant to various MBTA automotive facilities.

The DEF specification outlines the requirements for the DEF to comply with Cummins, ISO, and API standards, and details the delivery locations, schedule, and procedures. The coolant specification defines the technical requirements for ethylene glycol-based heavy and light duty coolant pre-diluted to 50% water and 50% coolant, meeting Cummins CES 14603 and CES 14439 standards. Both specifications require the fluids to be furnished and delivered in bulk to the MBTA facilities according to the schedules defined, with the MBTA able to request supplemental deliveries. The bids are to be submitted as a price per unit volume of fluid delivered.
