Shore TACAN Antenna Group Statement of Work (SOW)

1. Scope The following SOW represents the Government’s requirement for a Non-Developmental Item to replace the shore OE-258A Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) antenna group to be used with the AN/URN-32 TACAN transponder.. The OE-258A antenna group is no longer supported, necessitating the procurement of a replacement that meets the TACAN Shore Based Antenna Group Specification and the requirements outlined.

Background.

The Naval Air Systems Command Air Traffic Management Systems Program Office (PMA-213) is the Naval Aviation Enterprise’s Program Office for all Navy and Marine Corps Air Traffic Management Systems. Within PMA-213, the TACAN Integrated Product Team provides management and acquisition lifecycle support for the ship and shore-based TACAN transponders.

The TACAN transponder is designed to assist aircrews in locating the ship or airfield where the system is installed. For the shore based AN/URN-32 to be made operational, it must be connected to an antenna group, which provides an all-band, solid-state, electronically modulated antenna for both transmit and receive modes.

The OE-258A TACAN shore antenna group is no longer supported and can no longer be procured. The Navy intends to award a contract to purchase an antenna group replacement that meets the TACAN Shore Based Antenna Group Specification and the requirements of this SOW.

System Description.

The shore antenna group shall consist of the antenna and the antenna control unit.

Applicable Documents The requirements specified in this SOW shall be fulfilled in conjunction with the documents listed in this section. These documents provide supplemental technical details, standards, and specifications.

Precedence of Documents In the event a conflict arises between the text of this SOW and the references or drawings cited herein, the text of this SOW shall take precedence. Nothing in this SOW, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.
