About this file

This document contains the technical purchase specifications for a Vactor truck, a specialized vacuum and debris collection vehicle used for municipal cleaning and maintenance operations.

The specifications are organized into eight categories outlining mandatory and optional equipment requirements. The Debris Body & Dump System must feature steel construction with minimum 50,000 psi yield strength, a 15 cubic yard/3,000 gallon capacity, double-acting hydraulic dump hoist, full-opening rear door with neoprene seals, and a body flush-out system rated at ≥2,500 psi @ 60 gpm with 8+ nozzles. The Water Tank System requires an aluminum tank with ≥1,500-gallon capacity, float-level system, and low water alarm activating at 150 gallons. The Vacuum & Boom System must include an electronically controlled blower at the front operator station, front-mounted vacuum hose storage, boom mounted to chassis with directional controls and emergency shutdown capability, and cab protection device. Pumping equipment specifications call for an 800+ gpm 4" submersible trash pump with 4" x 35' drain hose and 25' x 1" leader hose, both with curbside controls. Pipe storage requires two curbside and two rear-door pipe racks with quick releases, plus a spring-assisted folding 3-pipe rack. The Chassis Specifications mandate a 450 HP engine, automatic transmission, and compression-release engine brake. Safety and Lighting Equipment includes electronic backup alarm, amber beacon lights, LED work lights, split flashing arrow lights, emergency flare kit, fire extinguisher, tow hooks, and hand light with reel. Optional Toolboxes & Accessories include various aluminum toolboxes, fenders, mud flaps, and jet nozzles.
