2. Remove current flooring, and coving ZUA Rooms 117, 118, 119, 120, 141.
3. The floor surface must be prepared to accept the new coat of epoxy coating on its top.
4. Remove foreign materials such as dust particles from the surface.
5. Follow by grinding, shot blasting, and scarifying to have a course surface for better bonding with the mother floor.
6. Patch and repair all the major cracks identified on the floor to provide durability to epoxy flooring. Use Elasto-Thane 230 or approved equal, single-component, moisture-cured, polyurethane sealant.
7. Apply surface priming coat to the floor. During priming, ensure that the primer makes its way deep into the floor. Use Elasto-Poxy, a water based Primer or approved equal prior to application of the coating system per manufacturers recommendation.
8. After applying the primer coat, fill all the visible cracks and holes present on the floor with epoxy.
9. The floor must be lightly ground, sanded, and re-layered.
10. Test sealant using a significant amount of water applied to the floor. If the water is not soaked in, then the floor can be applied with an epoxy coating.
11. Mix Epoxy hardener with an epoxy resin and apply over the floor surface in multiple layers in the final stage. Use Elasto-Deck 6500 or approved equal, applied according to manufacturer recommendations.
12. After application, cure the epoxy floor at the required temperature.
13. Ensure that the curing process is initiated only when the epoxy begins a reaction with another curing agent.
14. Install new rubber coving when floor curing is complete.
15. Submit a flooring replacement control plan for approval by FAA prior to beginning any flooring replacement operations.
