About this file

This is a Statement of Work for NASA Langley Research Center procuring two NextGen Universal Hardness Testing Systems. The primary requirement is two UniGen-S-CCD Digital Universal Hardness Testing Systems capable of conducting Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell, and Superficial Rockwell hardness testing in accordance with international standards including EN ISO 6508, ISO 6506, ASTM E92, ISO 6507, ASTM E-18, JIS Z2245, GB/T 230.2, ASTM E10-12, JIS Z2243, GB/T 231.2, JIS Z2244, and GB/T 4340.2.

The systems must feature test force ranges of Brinell 5–250 kgf, Rockwell 60/100/150 kgf, Superficial Rockwell 15/30/45 kgf, and Vickers 5–120 kgf, with resolution of 0.1 HR, 0.1 HBW, and 0.1 HV with force accuracy better than ±0.5%. Each system includes an 8-inch touchscreen interface with CCD camera, automatic measurement software, closed-loop electronic load cell system, USB data export, and password-protected parameter management. The standard configuration encompasses CCD camera, indenters, objective lenses, hardness test blocks, test tables, integrated illumination, USB interface, dust cover, accessory box, and operating manual. Supporting requirements include one three-year extended warranty, four N.I.S.T. Traceable Rockwell hardness test blocks, two N.I.S.T. Traceable Brinell hardness test blocks, one N.I.S.T. Traceable Rockwell 1/16" diameter ball indenter, and one N.I.S.T. Traceable Rockwell diamond indenter. The place of performance is NASA Langley Research Center, Building 1232A, Room 101B/C, Hampton, Virginia 23681, with a performance period of 4-8 weeks.
