Statement of Work

NASA Moon to Mars Dual-Use Technology InnovaƟon Summit and Entrepreneurial Training

Background

NASA is a key driver of innovaƟon in space and aeronauƟcs research and development. To ensure the long-term uƟlizaƟon of the Moon for science, discovery, and economic benefit and to set the stage for

Mars exploraƟon, NASA develops cuƫng edge innovaƟons to Go, Land, Live, Enable, and Expand beyond low-Earth orbit. The NASA Technology Transfer (T2) program mission is to ensure that these innovaƟons are broadly available to the public, maximizing the benefit to the NaƟon. Per the Stevenson-Wydler Act

(15 USC, 3701), NASA’s T2 program

1. Promotes U.S. technological innovaƟon for the achievement of naƟonal economic impact, sƟmulaƟng improved uƟlizaƟon of federally funded technology developments by the private sector

2. Strengthens cooperaƟon among federal laboratories and industry, improving the transfer of new discoveries for commercial applicaƟon

3. Enhances technological innovaƟon through educaƟon and training of individuals in the technological innovaƟon process and entrepreneurship and expands disseminaƟon of scienƟfic, engineering, and technical informaƟon among higher-educaƟon academic insƟtuƟons and industry

4. IdenƟfies technological needs, problems, and opportuniƟes within and across industrial sectors that, if addressed, could make a significant contribuƟon to the U.S. economy

Objec ves

1. Promote and sƟmulate improved uƟlizaƟon of federally funded technology developments by the private sector by showcasing NASA IP available for commercializaƟon, emphasizing dual-use

[terrestrial and extraterrestrial] applicaƟon of Go, Land, Live, Enable, and Expand technologies categorized as

TransportaƟon Systems

CommunicaƟons, posiƟoning, navigaƟon, and Ɵming

LogisƟcs

HabitaƟon Systems

In-Situ Resource UƟlizaƟon (ISRU)

Mobility

Human Systems

Power Systems

UƟlizaƟon Systems

Data Systems and Management

Autonomous Systems and RoboƟcs

Infrastructure Support

2. AƩract entrepreneurs and business professionals to NASA technologies and inspire idenƟficaƟon of NASA IP-based products and processes that address select civil space shorƞalls (as determined by NASA T2 management)

3. Educate and train entrepreneurs and other individuals on the innovaƟon and commercializaƟon process, generate leads for licensing NASA technologies, idenƟfy dual-use soluƟons and markets, inspire technological innovaƟon, and improve the transfer of new discoveries for commercial applicaƟon

4. Provide entrepreneurship and commercializaƟon training to the NASA workforce to enhance technological innovaƟon

Scope of Work

The contractor shall perform the following

Via summit, recruits and inspires entrepreneurs and business professionals through showcasing

NASA’s technologies available for commercializaƟon to support dual-use Moon to Mars objecƟves and terrestrial commercial applicaƟons, catalyzes licensing opportuniƟes to bring these technologies into the U.S. marketplace, facilitates networking opportuniƟes, provides hands-on training for launching or scaling technology-infused businesses to address both Moon-to-Mars exploraƟon objecƟves and to improve lives on Earth, and incenƟvizes entrepreneurial innovaƟon to create new products or advance technology readiness levels (TRL) of NASA IP that can address civil space shorƞalls through challenge compeƟƟon

Via summit, leverages unique networks and pipelines to aƩract entrepreneurs and end-users to

NASA technology and provides expert training, coaching, and mentorship in support of new venture creaƟon, commercializaƟon, and business development

Provides entrepreneurial innovaƟon and commercializaƟon training to NASA employees through
