About this file

This document is Bid Amendment #1 to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Purchase and Property, for Dishwashing Compounds - Auto Machine Detergent with Dispensing and Maintenance Services under Bid Solicitation #16DPP00043. The RFP solicits proposals for the provision of dishwashing compounds, dispensing equipment, and related maintenance and repair services. Proposals are due on October 26, 2016 by 2:00 pm ET. The contract will be awarded on a per-line item basis, with no group awards. The current vendor does not charge for emergency maintenance and repair services.

The RFP provides guidance on pricing, including that vendors can offer any one or more of the requested packaging configurations (4/1 gallon, 5 gallon, 15 gallon) for items 2-5, and that the state will not provide volume estimates for the different packaging options. The state may test the closed-loop dispensing system as part of the sample testing process. The RFP also addresses questions related to the current contract, including current vendor information and pricing, which can be obtained through an Open Public Records Act request.

Section 1.2.1
Question: On page 6, 1.2.1 Notable changes since the last bid solicitation (RFP)/Blanket PO (Contract), b. "Price lines will be awarded individually on a per line basis. There will be NO group awards." It is in the state's best interest to award lines 1, 2, 4 and 6 as group. All of these products are used on the dishmachine. If you the state awards these items to different companies, your customers will have difficulties getting service as the company who provides the rinse will blame the results issues on the company that has the detergent award, and vice versa.

Answer: This Bid Solicitation {RFP} requests Quotes {Proposals} for dishwashing compounds with dispensers and dispenser service. If the Using Agency encounters an issue with the performance of the dishwashing compounds (encapsulated and/or liquid) or the dispenser used for the dishwashing compound, the Vendor {Contractor} awarded that Price Line will be contacted to perform maintenance.

Price Line 6 does not require a dispenser.
