About this file
This document is a Change Order Notice from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The Department is extending a contract with SWEAT LLC for nursery labor services by four months, from September 2, 2018 to December 31, 2018, to complete the harvest season work. The contract extension will increase the cost by $136,000. The original contract was procured through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) with no remaining renewal options. The change order is being issued as the contract was set to expire in the middle of the harvest season, and it is in the State's best interest to extend the contract to allow for the completion of the required services and to provide time to re-procure the services.
The cost increase of $136,000 is to cover the additional four months of nursery labor services needed to complete the harvest work. The original procurement method was an IFB, and the circumstances requiring the change order were unforeseeable at the time the contract was executed. The changes are deemed germane to the original contract and in the best interest of the State.
