About this file

This is a Payment Bond form issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) for the Suffolk & Adams Courthouses Stair and Curbing Renovations project. The bond is administered through the Executive Office of the Trial Court, Office of Court Management, Facilities Management Department. The project involves the removal of 370 linear feet of concrete curbing and its replacement with granite curbing, as well as repair work on the first stair of the Suffolk Courthouse. The payment bond form serves as a template requiring completion by the principal contractor and surety, with the bond amount to be determined based on the contract value.

The payment bond guarantees that the principal contractor will pay for all labor performed, materials used, and any authorized modifications, alterations, extensions, changes, or additions to the contract in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39A and Chapter 149, Section 29. The surety assumes joint and several liability with the contractor to ensure payment obligations to the Commonwealth. All required signature lines, dates, and address fields remain blank on this template form, to be completed upon execution of the underlying construction contract. The bond amount, contract number, and contract date will be specified in the final executed bond document.
