About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a maintenance contract for STERIS sterilization, washer, and decontamination equipment at the 97th Medical Group, Altus Air Force Base. The five-year contract, running from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2030, covers comprehensive equipment maintenance services including scheduled preventive maintenance, unscheduled repairs, priority technical support, remote monitoring, and a service portal for three specific equipment modules: AMSCO 400 20X20X38 PVAC Slide Cabinet, AMSCO2532 Configuration, and a Scale Back Pro Kit.
The contract addresses critical medical equipment maintenance needs, highlighting that local biomedical equipment technicians cannot maintain these sensitive devices. The SOW notes that the medical group has spent over $9,000 on repairs this fiscal year, making the contract cost-effective. Services include 24/7 technical support, on-site and remote monitoring, detailed service documentation, and an onboarding process expected to take up to 5 weeks. The maintenance will be performed during specified working hours (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM for surgical equipment, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for infection prevention equipment), excluding federal holidays.

Statement of Work created: 17 January 2025
STERIS Sterilizing Unit, Washer, and Decontamination Unit (Maintenance)
97th MEDICAL GROUP (MDG) 301 N. First Street, Building 46
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, 73523
PoP: March 1, 2025- February 28, 2030
PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT:
Introduction:
The 97th Medical Group (97 MDG) at Altus AFB, Oklahoma, requires a service contract with STERIS for a sterilization unit, washer, and decontamination unit that covers instillation, onboard training, annual maintenance, and repairs as well as provides priority technical support, on-site or on-call support, remote monitoring, and a service portal.
Background:
The sterilizer and washer are highly sensitive pieces of equipment that the local BMETs are not capable of maintaining. These items have repeatedly stopped working, causing work stoppages
- this leads to delays in patient care, decreased readiness, and lost production income. The contract would allow the Dental Clinic to receive priority repairs from the service representative. They will be able to cut in line ahead of those without contracts. To date this fiscal year, they have already spent $9K+ on repairs; this puts them on pace to exceed the price of the contract. The contract would have covered these services. It also covers preventative maintenance that’s currently unable to be done and would reduce the number of times they do go down.
