The government of Abu Dhabi restricts access to certain key routes such as E11, allowing access only at certain times and with the relevant permits. As access to Kizad and Khalifa Port are key elements, ADPC is able to issue permits to access these routes with the details set out below. However, companies requiring access to E11 and other roads but not Khalifa Port may contact Abu Dhabi Police for the requisite permits
For all trucks with carrying capacity over 15 tons, in order to access ADPC ports and to get permission in future to use the E11 you will need to obtain an ADPC License.
The procedure for obtaining a license is available on-line at http://www.adpc.ae/en/section/ports/licensing?limit=10. Essentially tenants need to fill out the Application Form and Truck List and e-mail them via soft copy to licensing@adpc.ae together with a copy of your Trade License and Company profile.
Once all the documentation is complete, ADPC will send you an invoice together with the license and a declaration form that needs to be signed and stamped by your authorized representative. The cost of the license is AED 5,000 annually to cover ADPC’s administrative costs and the duration will be for 12 months.
As part of the licensing process, licensed companies will also be required to obtain stickers that will allow truck access into the ports as well as Southbound on the E-11 during non-restricted times. The cost of the stickers is AED 20/sticker. Northbound all trucks should use the Al Falah Road. For detailed access routes and time bans for large vehicles on the E-11 please refer to the above website.
