SECTION C

SECTION C--DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK

SCOPE OF CONTRACT

This contract provides for the equipment, labor, materials, services and permits necessary to perform work ordered by the Government, in compliance with its terms, specifications, drawings and provisions. The work will improve water quality and the operation of the Big Tujunga water system and include repairs to the two 10,000-gallon tanks’ exteriors, installation of an interior liner, installation of ladders, water level indicators, and float valves, and replacement of the existing valving and piping around the tank. The goal is for each tank to be drained and isolated independently since one currently floats on the other. The repairs will address safety concerns and allow for more efficient operation of the system.

Project Location

The project is located at the Big Tujunga Fire Station at 2152 Stoneyvale Road Tujunga, CA. To reach the project site from the ANF headquarters at 701 N Santa Anita Ave in Arcadia, take the I-210 W for about 20 miles to Exit 11 Sunland Blvd. Take a right onto Sunland Blvd to merge on Foothill Blvd in 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Oro Vista Road in 0.4 miles, and continue for 0.9 miles. The road will continue onto Big Tujunga Canyon Road and after 6.6 miles, turn right onto Vogel Flat Road. The fire station will be on the right and can be accessed via Stonyvale Road. The tanks can be hiked to from the fire station or reached more easily from the intersection of Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Vogel Flat Road.

The Forest Service highly recommends a site visit prior to bidding to ensure complete understanding of the project scope, site conditions, access for equipment, and material delivery. For additional information, contact Kevin Hernandez (c:626-684-2316), kevin.hernandez@usda.gov.
