DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATION/WORK STATEMENT
RENEW IPF MIAMI DX38 TAYLOR DYNAMOMETER PUMPS AND MOTORS
PART I
SECTION A
Work Statement
IPF Miami is upgrading their DX38 Taylor Dynamometer with a DynPro2 Acquisition & Control System. IPF Miami’s Dynamometer Pumps and Motors are not functional and badly deteriorated, primarily due to age and inactivity. The Dynamometer pumping system is comprised of four vertical lift pumps with specific roles.
1. Engine Cooling Water Pump
2. Dynamometer working water supply
3. Cooling Tower Recirculation Pump (1)
4. Cooling Tower Recirculation Pump (2)
Within the last 15 years, IPF Miami’s Dynamometer pumps have been inactive with the exception of the Engine Cooling Water Pump. The Engine Cooling Water Pump provided cooling water to CAT 3304 generators while being load banked before delivery. The other three pumps have been idle for over 15 years, the pumps and motors have deteriorated to the point that they need to be renewed.
