About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's (BEP) requirement for Stack and Rack Carts used in the currency production process. The BEP seeks a contractor to manufacture and deliver 50-subject Stack and Rack Carts specific to press size, with metal rods and security hoods, for use in separating and drying currency sheets after Intaglio printing. The carts must be delivered to the Fort Worth, TX Currency Facility, with two initial carts required within 60 days of contract award for a two-week testing period, followed by a staggered delivery schedule. The contractor must meet strict performance requirements, including 100% compliance for welding column placement, paint adherence, and maintaining a 36-inch column width, with performance evaluated through random sampling and tracked for Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting (CPAR).
The SOW specifies that the carts will be used to hold sheets for at least 72 hours of drying time, with each cart secured and strapped with a security hood and locking mechanism provided by BEP. The government reserves the right to inspect all delivered equipment, and any carts not meeting specifications will be returned to the contractor at their expense. The contractor must provide a warranty for the equipment and a point of contact for warranty issues. The delivery schedule must account for federal holidays and the BEP's year-end shutdown from December 25 to January 1, with the contractor required to immediately notify the Contracting Officer of any potential delays or deviations from technical requirements.
