STATEMENT OF WORK
(SOW)
Mk16 Mod1 Exercise Electronics Assembly (EEA) Bloomy Test Set
PR# 1301010872
1.0 Background
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) is a naval research activity operating under the direction of the Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). NUWCDIVNPT provides research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, analysis and assessment, as well as Fleet support capabilities for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive undersea weapon systems, and stewards existing and emerging technologies in support of undersea warfare. The Undersea Warfare Weapons, Vehicles and Defensive Systems, Code 85, provides integrated full spectrum undersea weapon, autonomous and defensive system solutions to the warfighter through technical expertise, cooperative innovation, engineering and life cycle stewardship.
The Mk16 Mod1 Exercise Electronics Assembly (EEA) provides recording and safety functions in an exercise configuration Heavyweight Torpedo (HWT). The Mk16 Mod1 is a replacement for the Mk16 Mod0 which is facing obsolescence issues. Additionally, the Mk16 Mod1 will provide recording capability for new Mk48 Mod8 HWTs currently in development. Previously, under a Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract with Northrup Grumman Corporation (NGC), Bloomy developed an EEA test set to support Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS).
NUWCDIVNPT now requires a test set to execute development and other testing on the EEA system.
1.1 Places of Performance
Work shall be performed at the contractor’s site. Final acceptance testing will be conducted at NUWCDIVNPT.
1.2 Sponsor
