Statement of Work (SOW)

Beckman Avanti JE High Speed Centrifuge Service

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: Contractor will provide OEM factory trained engineers to perform one annual preventive maintenance service visit, telephone support as needed and technicians to complete emergency support visits for two Beckman Avanti JE high speed centrifuges located at 1920 Dayton Avenue in Ames, Iowa. Period of coverage is anticipated for 4/18/23- 4/17/24. Contractors will provide emergency services quickly when needed, to keep the laboratory able to run smoothly.

Covered components will include:

1) Beckman Avanti JE High Speed Centrifuge SN: # JSE10F07 ID: 1295117

2) Beckman Avanti JE High Speed Centrifuge SN: # JSE10F08 ID: 1295091

Background. Preventive maintenance is required to ensure continued and reliable operation in support of the ARS research mission. This service contract provides one preventative maintenance service visit for each centrifuge during the contract and unlimited emergency service visits for repairs. The emergency service covers labor, travel, and replacement parts free of charge. It also includes unlimited emergency telephone and web-based technical and repair support. These centrifuges are over twelve years old, therefore preventative maintenance is required in ordered to keep them functioning properly and to provide safety for the laboratory and the samples. The age of the centrifuges increases the likelihood of needing parts replaced due to extended use, therefore this service contract will be beneficial and may be cost saving to the laboratory. In addition, a large amount of the laboratory experiments depends on the centrifuges, therefore a delay in repair would be extremely detrimental to the laboratory.
