The project requires removing and disposing of existing sun shade fabric, installing new "Sunbrella or equivalent" polyester fabric, cleaning and ceramic coating the aluminum frame, and completing all associated labor and shipping. The work will be performed at the United States Coast Guard base in Los Angeles Long Beach, San Pedro, CA, with a performance period not exceeding 90 calendar days.
Key requirements include providing qualified personnel, a project manager as the primary point of contact, compliance with security and identification protocols, and submission of a project plan and business continuity plan. The contractor must perform work primarily between 0700-1800 PST, Monday through Friday, with potential for weekend or holiday work. The project includes a one-year warranty on all goods and services, and the contractor is responsible for all travel and material costs. STATEMENT OF WORK
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
FOR
USCGC FORREST REDNOUR Awning Replacement
21 JULY 2025
1.0 GENERAL
1.1 BACKGROUND
The cutter’s awning has not been replaced since the Coast Guard took delivery by BOLLINGER SHIPYARDS in 2018. Constant operations and sun exposure have resulted in several tears and severe fading. Replacement awning must be installed using the designated materials and fabrics (100% polyester) in the ships technical standards.
1.2 SCOPE
The scope of the work shall include replacement and installation of the current aft main and 01 decks sun shades and cordage (sunbrella or equivalent fabric), removal and disposal of the old fabric for both sun shades, cleaning and ceramic coating of the aluminum frame, and all associated labor and shipping costs.
1.3 OBJECTIVE
Project objective is the full replacement of both sun shades and polishing/coating of the aluminum frame for full operability and to increase longevity of the structure.
