Specifications/Item Listing (Commodity) Statement of Work (SOW) for Hangar 46 Bay F Battery Shop Electrical Upgrade

60th Maintenance Squadron/Electrical and Environmental battery shop has a requirement to repair, inspect, and charge aircraft battery assemblies. To perform normal maintenance on aircraft batteries they must be recharged and tested for their next use. Travis battery shop needs to be relocated to a new facility that does not have adequate infrastructure to fulfill this requirement. The designated work center for the battery shop is currently wired with ten 20A circuits for battery chargers. The chargers require a minimum 30A circuit. This causes battery shop personnel and equipment to remain in its current location for maintenance and storage. This facility was originally designed to support older equipment with limited space for upgrades. The new facility was designed for the integration of the KC-46 aircraft in addition to the C-5 and C-17.

Adding this increased workload to an already limited repair shop will cause unnecessary delays in the asset repair cycle.
